The Garden City Public Library has been serving the residents of Garden City (Michigan) as a resource of traditional and evolving library services for over 90 years.

The Garden City Public Library is your place for books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, magazines, computer access, and free Wi-Fi.  Throughout the year, we offer a variety of free programs for all ages.  The Garden City Public Library provides access to ebooks via Download Destination (powered by OverDrive), magazines via Zinio, and movies, music plus much more via Hoopla.  Using your Garden City Public Library card, you will have access to these services from anywhere at any time!

Stress Buster Adult Coloring Night - Come one, come all, stressed adults, we hear your call! Every Tuesday (now through February) at 6 pm drop in the Library to relax at our Stress Buster Adult Coloring Night! There will be a multitude of coloring sheets provided, as well as crayons, markers and other materials. You can also bring your own supplies. New coloring pages each week! Ages 14 +
Afternoon Explorers Club - Garden City Public Library has had an awesome time these last three months at Afternoon Explorers but now it's time for some changes. We'll now be having the event from 4-5pm. Join us on Monday, January 16th for fun home made catapults!. To register for this event, either drop by the Library or call us at (734) 793-1830.
Ex-Hobo Tells All! - Wednesday, January 18th at 6pm at the Garden City Public Library, Dan Grajek will share his cross country vagabond memories from hitchhiking the 70s. His book, The Last Hobo, is currently available for check out or hold from our collection, and will be for sale during the program. All ages are welcome! No registration required. This is a free, meet the author event.
Paint-on-Rocks - Monday, January 23rd at 6:00 pm come to the GC Library to create a fun paperweight with the age-old art of rock painting! Supplies will be provided. Ages 14 +. Call to register (734) 739-1830.
Anime Club - Hey Teens! The Garden City Public Library has an event coming up that might be perfect for you: Anime Club. On Thursday, January 26th , join us at the GCPL from 6-7pm as we follow a man who can stop a villain with a single punch: One Punch Man! There will be fun crafts, lots of discussion and maybe even an episode or two. We really hope you can make it! Register in advance at the Library or give us a call at (734) 793-1830.
Nerd Night: Nintendo Virtual Boy - Join local nerd Gabe K. in a guided discussion about the failed world of Nintendo's 1995 release of the first "true 3D" console, Virtual Boy. Nerd Night: Nintendo Virtual Boy is scheduled for Monday, January 30th beginning at 6PM. Patrons ages 14 + are welcome to drop in for discussion, Doritos and Mountain Dew.
GC Winter Coloring Booklet - Garden City Downtown Development Authority and the Friends of the Garden City Library partnered up this year for the Santaland Parade to deliver holiday cheer to children, creating a coloring booklet. Lego Club - Join the Garden City Public Library Lego Club in our brand new time! Kids ages 5 and up can join us at the library on Monday February 13th from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm to make their own Lego masterpieces. Legos will be provided. We will also have Lego books for you to look at (or checkout) to spark your imagination. No registration is necessary. Just drop on in.
